'MACEO' Prix de Pastel IAPS 2016
The beauty and intimacy of the human figure has been the main focus of my work for many years… indeed intimate is a word that I feel best describes my work. I’m very touched by the special universe that surrounds each person, and that I feel compelled to explore with colors and light. The mystery of human existence is at the root of this fascination: its ephemeral and paradoxically eternal quality. And then there are my other subjects, each one of which has a specific mood, a specific aura that I’m intrigued to explore, to penetrate in order to develop the beauty that I know is there. Perception is the key: art targets the multiple and translucent layers of perception.
